How To Unite All The Pyramids Into One

The pyramid upon which all of nature is based includes four levels: still, vegetative, animate, and human, and it exists inside every person. It is always inside a person, which means that he always combines all the desires within. Therefore, he must always take into account and realize that he has to build up his desires in the form of this pyramid or according to this scale of priorities.

You cannot detach from reality completely and soar up to the spiritual world. That would be wrong! It would mean that you do not control, see, and feel your desires. You have to see the whole system and know which level every one of your desires belongs to: still, vegetative, animate, or human.

This is my full spiritual Kli (vessel) – HaVaYaH (Yod, Hey, Vav, Hey), and I work with these desires by creating a screen for each of them. That is how I hold the soul in my own hands!

Clearly, I need help from the environment and the Upper Light, but this entire spiritual structure must be "in front of me." Even if I make a mistake and sin by accidentally making an egoistic calculation, I must be fully conscious of what is happening.

The whole world as well as every person is built according to this pyramid. Through these pyramids of desires we unite with each other. We cannot correct anything in this world until we unite the tops of our pyramids in their highest point by uniting together with each other and with the Creator.

Then everything will balance out and unite into one system. Only inside this higher point of unity will we be able to unite our pyramids of desires correctly. We will discover that all of our desires and qualities are good and necessary when they unite together and we complement each other to become one whole!

Breakthrough

We exist in this world on the animate level, where we are completely controlled by our nature. However, at some point in time, we reveal that this life is insignificant and pointless, and experience a desire to rise to a higher level. Yet, how can we ascend above the animate existence, which is automatic and involuntary? How can we become "human," free and above the life of our animate bodies?

"Human" means "similar" to the Creator (because the word "Adam" comes from the word "Domeh," similar). In order to realize this ascent, to build a new, "human" nature inside the "animal," so that our new nature will be equal to the Creator, we have to draw the Light that Reforms upon ourselves. This is a special Upper Force that influences and changes us so we ascend, raising our understanding, sensation, abilities, and perception. That is how we rise to a higher level called "Human."

This is not just a mechanical ascent or an accumulation of more knowledge, but a transition to a different level of nature. We don’t understand how it occurs because right now we are all looking at the world from within our animate bodies. I am hiding inside this animal and I perceive this world through its eyes, ears, and other senses. I am unable to see the world differently until the Light comes from Above and enables me to be liberated from this animate skin and its sensations, and to clothe into a human guise. Then I will see and feel a new reality.

Right now we don’t know what kind of reality we exist in or where we have to arrive. Each of these things can only be assessed and researched based on the other. However, in order to set this entire process in motion, we were given two main pieces of advice: Be in a Kabbalistic group and study Kabbalah books. Through the group and the desire to unite together, we are able to come out of ourselves and become human. A human being is one who is connected with others and has the ability to bestow to his neighbor. With the force of our desire, a book draws Light upon us and turns what we desire into reality. That is how we actually attain the human level, equivalence to the Upper One.

Each of us has this desire to become human and not remain an "animal." And we have the group which affords the opportunity to make efforts in order to come out of the animate sensation and unite together. Our connection is what will enable us to be called “people.” The Upper Light that we draw through our mutual reading will complete this work for us and will transform our efforts into a new, actual reality. So let us study together with this hope.

Desire It And "Hear" It!

Question: How can I awaken fear of the Creator inside me if I only see our material world?

Answer: Once I’ve been in the group for a long time, the time comes when I suddenly "hear" that I have to unite with my friends in order to attain the spiritual world. Yet, I don’t understand why and for what because I still don’t feel the connection between the following components:

The Upper Goal, which I don’t feel or realize, but which I have to attain;
The Upper Force, which I have to attain and feel;
My attitude to the friends;
The state of unity with friends which we have to attain.

There is a chain of inner revelations of feeling that have to take place within me. After all, our entire life is sensations. We are made of a matter called "the will to enjoy." This is a desire that feels pleasure or suffering and nothing more than that.

Therefore, my entire attitude to anything amounts to my sensation. It is either present or absent. If I don’t have this inner chain of feeling, the connection of how I will attain the goal of creation from this moment on (through love for the Creator, worry about Him, fear of Him, care for the group, and unity with friends as one man with one heart), if I still lack the inner responses to this, the impressions and reactions, then I still have to do more work on myself.

What should I do? The condition for revealing the Creator is just like at Mount Sinai: having the desire to unite as one man with one heart. Then He will become revealed to you in your unified desire. Moreover, you only have to desire to unite, and the Creator will carry out the unification. We have to try to acquire a desire for unity.

But how can I try to do this if I don’t want it? You can develop a desire through action. This is the meaning of the verse, "We will do and we will hear!"

This is exactly why our false world was created, where we exist in bodies. You can perform false physical actions of bestowal to your friends and speak about unity with them without any desire for it.

You don’t have a desire for it? That doesn’t matter! You don’t live just in the desire. You also exist in an external shell called the physical body. So make physical actions of bestowal to your friend, acting as if you love him instead of yourself.

That is why it is written, "Buy yourself a friend." Bestow to him in all sorts of ways and you will feel how your attitude to him changes. Why? Because you invested your energy and efforts in him. You did not want it, but by acting this way you gained a special attitude to him.

This is called "We will do." Actions that you make without a desire bring you to "we will hear," to the quality of bestowal. (“Hearing” is the quality of Bina). Then you already begin to hear the things the Torah speaks about. It is the instruction manual on the path to the Light. (Torah comes from the words Ohr – Light, and Horaa – instructions.)

Therefore, let’s try to unite all together even if we don’t have a desire for this. Let’s ascend above our feelings and then we will experience everything in a new way.

We’ll Pass The Machsom And The World Will Change!

Question: Will the world change if we pass the Machsom at this Congress? Will it happen immediately or gradually?

Answer: Right now we are able to unite our desires and awaken the Upper Light to such an extent that we will feel the Light. We will then feel the spiritual reality, the connection between us through mutual bestowal. I am not talking about love, total interconnection or "return due to love" because this is the second phase of correction. For now we are connecting on the first phase of correction just by ascending above our ego by the force of the Light.

This Light is like a magnet that raises us above our egoism, above the mountain of hatred, Mount Sinai. We can ascend above egoism and enter the spiritual world temporarily, for a certain amount of time, and then once again descend into the ego and return into the material world. Alternatively, we can ascend or enter it permanently, in which case from that state on we will begin the phases of development in the "desert," where we ascend up the spiritual ladder. We will then rise along 125 levels until the World of Infinity, the total correction of egoism into bestowal and love.

Let us hope that we will attain at least a temporary revelation of the Creator. However, even if this doesn’t happen, it means that we still lack the true desire for it, that our desire is not great or precise enough yet in order to get rid of egoism. In that case, it will happen next time when we accumulate sufficient force and the exact desire to ascend above ourselves. The most important thing is to be concerned about the connection between us and to reveal the Creator inside this connection. This is the purpose of the existence of the worlds and of man in this world.

Our quantitative and qualitative force is already sufficient for us to attain it at this Congress.

The Whole World Will Be Filled With The Knowledge Of The Creator

The world is developing and entering a new era called “The Time of The Messiah,” a time when the science of Kabbalah is being revealed to the masses. Many are beginning to understand the plan for their and the world’s development. No longer is there one Kabbalist developing the desires without the consent of the masses. Now people are demanding conscious development on their own, like grown children. The Light of Hochma (the revelation of the Creator to the creatures) is beginning to be revealed in the world.

Before there was just one Kabbalist and many other individuals, but now they are beginning to come closer together. In the past, a Kabbalist would correct the desires of the masses on his level, but now in order to work together with them, he needs to descend to their level. Due to the Kabbalist’s preliminary correction of their desires, people ascend, and the Kabbalist descends toward them so that they can understand him.

For example, in his prophecy, Baal HaSulam asked the Creator to descend so that he could talk in a language that the people would understand. And although the masses and the Kabbalist are now connected by common work, the Upper Light still comes only through him due to a conscious desire from the masses. As a result, positive changes occur in the world. Without the Upper Light the world could not exist at all. Therefore, from generation to generation, Kabbalists (Yechidei Segula) worked discreetly.

However, now everything is different. Due to the preparations that were made over the course of all the generations until today, we need to begin the common conscious actions so that “All will know Me, the small and the great alike.” Humanity needs to learn that the nation of Israel has the science of Kabbalah. We need to help reveal this all together so that “the nations of the world will bring the sons of Israel on their shoulders to build the Third Temple,” the common broken soul.

We need to attain the method of correction (unification) of our souls together so that the Creator will fill us with His revelation. Mutual work is required for this, and therefore, we need to turn to all the nations of the world to explain our common task. We need to reveal the science of Kabbalah from concealment according to their demand, and all together – they due to us, and we due to them – we realize this method.

Therefore, today there is a worldwide community of people who study Kabbalah. In fact, they will bring us to this correct relationship in the whole system of the world. Everyone studying with us today is referred to as “Israel” (“Yashar El” – directly to the Creator) since everyone has a point in the heart. However, through them, we will come out to the true nations of the world, to those who are unable to awaken to spirituality on their own. As Baal HaSulam says, “The wisdom of Kabbalah will spill out of the boundaries of Israel and fill the whole world.”

The Zohar Is The Most Powerful Weapon

It is written that it is prohibited to study the Torah without intention because thereby one doesn’t draw the Light that Reforms and immediately turns the “potion of life” into the “potion of death.” This point of choice is our only choice in life. Hence, when dealing with The Book of Zohar, the only weapon against evil or egoism, we should try to use it correctly.

Obviously, we can’t push the “red button” that would lead the world to harmful irreversible results, but we might step into the states of suffering, which had already happened in the past (see “Introduction to The Book of Zohar,” Items 70, 71). This is why before reading The Zohar, a person should review a supply of Kabbalistic aphorisms, adages which impress him, which help him to start awakening from the animate level (desire for oneself) to the human level (aspiration toward unity, bestowal, and love).

The human level amounts to the desire to unite with the others. The corrected system of souls is called “Adam” (man). As soon as this system breaks and crumbles into multiple pieces, each of them turns into its solely animate part. The human level (equivalence to the Creator, “Adam” comes from “similar to the Creator”) appears in us only when the broken parts (souls) begin to unite and experience a unified desire.

It turns out that the souls live not within themselves but in the connection among them. It is called life “above reason,” that is, in the relationships among the souls, in mutual bestowal. The sum total of these relationships of bestowal is the Creator who connects us. This unifying force that is dawning in the distance is called “The Surrounding Light.”

Thus, the Creator is the force that actually unifies us, and the Surrounding Light is its manifestation from afar. There is nothing but the Light and the desire (Kli). We assign various names to them, but ultimately, there are only these two forces.

We Have Assembled Here To Become Human

Rabash’s article, "The Purpose of the Association:" We have met today to establish an association of those interested in following the path and method of the author of the “Sulam” (Kabbalist Rabbi Yehuda Ashlag), the path of ascension from the level of an animal to the level of man.

We have to deduce the fundamental principles from this article:

1. What does it mean "to assemble"?

2. What is "the method of Baal HaSulam"?

3. What is "the human level"?

4. Was man created to experience pleasure or fear before the Creator?

5. The condition for attaining all of this is equivalence of form with the Creator.

6. The will to enjoy by itself is not bad. It is the matter of all creation. The evil inclination (Yetzer Ra) is our unwillingness to unite and to correct the breaking of the common soul into parts, our individual souls.

7. We must not destroy the egoistic desire, but only correct its intention from "for myself" to the intention of bestowal, "for others." Inside our desire to receive, we are always opposite to the Creator, but inside the intention to bestow, we join Him.

8. Adhesion with the Creator takes place through equivalence of form with Him. The way to attain the intention to bestow is by working with the group. This task is achievable and verifiable, and the common desire to bestow that we create together is our common soul, which the Creator fulfills.

9. Any state we are in consists of two opposite states, and as we advance, the gap between them increases. On one hand, I continually reveal how insignificant I am, and at the same time, I continually reveal the greatness of the goal.

I have to unite all of this inside one point. Thus, I will feel the breaking between the souls which will force the Upper Light to correct me. Then bestowal will reign between myself and other people.

This is called "the giving of the Torah, the Light of Correction." After that the One Who Gives the Torah becomes revealed as well inside our corrected attitude to our neighbor, inside the common spiritual vessel (Kli).

Let’s Unite The Heart Of The World

A question I received: The World Zohar Convention will start in New York in just two days, and it seems like everything has already been said about it, such as how to prepare for it and what will happen there. Still, could you provide some final summary instructions?

My Answer: The summary is to attain a connection among our hearts. This is the only thing we have to correct and this has to be the most important thing to us.

You should not worry about now being able to see and hear everything, or not being able to understand everything. The most important thing is your heart: You have to worry about connecting it with all the other similar desires of the people participating in this world assembly.

There will be over a thousand people present at the actual convention, and they will be joined by hundreds of thousands around the whole world. If these hearts desire to unite in a single desire to attain the revelation of the Creator, to attain bestowal and love through their unity, then it will happen! This goal is attainable. It can be achieved, and it will happen one way or another in the very near future.

In previous years I did not talk about love and unity, but now we are already at the threshold of practically revealing the Creator, the quality of bestowal and love, in our world. Therefore, we are entering this Convention with hopes for great success.
