In Bucharest they are becoming quite brutal. Our friends there are very worried. Overall, how should we view the suffering that the world experiences?

Answer: We must only disseminate materials about unity. And there are several rules in this regard:

-	We do not mix with anyone;
-	We are not “for” or “against”;
-	As educators, we relate to people very considerately and unsophisticated.

That is how we approach the situation, according to the principle, “Love will cover all sins.” It is necessary to reach consensus, conciliation, unity. This does not mean that everyone calms down and goes home, since in that case we would be against the protestors. No, we are for change. However, in all of history, methods like this have never brought about anything good.

We have live examples before our eyes: Egypt, Tunisia, and other countries. For example, what was the use of the spontaneous disorders in London? This approach does not bring anything good to anyone. And Egypt has become immersed in devastation and is left with nothing. So, disorders won’t help.

That is why we have to release explanatory brochures with materials about mutual guarantee, including our advice: communication, round tables, and integral upbringing.

But first of all, we must concisely describe the current situation: Why is this happening?

And in doing so we do not speak out against the government or anyone else. We are talking about a natural process, a regular phase of our evolution where the world is becoming global and interconnected.

So what should we do? We have to adapt to the new conditions. After all, there is no other way to go. The integral network is already expressing itself. It’s simply that previously we adapted instinctively, whereas now we must reach harmony with the changed world consciously, with our own awareness. This is our new level of development.

Next, we have to explain how to do this: by means of integral upbringing, with the help of a good environment, which will convince every person of the need to unite with others.

Romania is a pretty homogenous country. It is not home to different cultures living side by side—it’s not America or the united Europe, so there it’s easier to talk about unity. This approach will appease the people, will revitalize the country, and will give people work. People will rise in their consciousness and will understand what is happening. They will see for themselves that this is good for them, their children, their country, and people.

As a whole, we are only inviting everyone to unite, and no more than that. There are no hidden “fees,” dirty tricks, or attempts to make money off of someone. On the contrary, let them do everything themselves. Let them organize the learning process and build an environment according to the laws of nature, while collaborating with psychologists.

This is what we have to offer, especially considering that there are many countries standing at the threshold of the same kind of strife.
Desires always “think” of themselves; and yet the fact that the ultimate force ruled over them allowed the whole structure to stay within a condition that is called the world of Infinity. It maintained total adhesion with and stayed under the absolute authority of the power of bestowal and love.

It is similar to the sensation that we often feel when we are sitting and singing with our friends in a great mood, and hoping that this sensation of warmth and mutual love will last forever.

Of course, this is far from a spiritual sensation, but it gives us an idea of how the common soul felt before it was shattered. Then, some external force broke in and destroyed this sensation.

Where did this force come from in the first place? It was revealed within us; we never sensed it before and didn’t even suspect that it existed. All of a sudden we sensed hatred! It was always hiding within us and suddenly showed itself against our will.

The strength of hatred that hit us was so huge that each of us simply ran away from the beautiful assembly and thus ruined the connections among us. We all started to view it as something dirty and disgusting. We couldn’t tolerate staying within it any longer. This is how we happened to end up in this world and continue to live in it now.

Since then, this world kept developing under the guidance of the force of hatred. Throughout history, and to this day, we have been using the power of the shattering over and over again. But only today are we starting to realize that we have already reached the final implementation of hatred into our lives and that it doesn’t lead us anywhere anymore. Our hope to achieve the good life with its help has vanished.

The time of correction has come since we already understand that using the power of hatred and separation can only ruin our lives. So, our duty is to do something about it!
This is how He brings you to the recognition of evil and actually does all the work. And you, instead of revealing the truth, reprimand yourself for your actions.

Question: But if you don’t pay attention to these things, isn’t it like running away from the struggle?

Answer: It isn’t a struggle at all. You are like a donkey in front of which an obstacle has been placed: He doesn’t understand how it can be bypassed, and tries to break through it. There is no point in that.

We have to rise above all the actions and feelings, above all the imaginary calculations, and through the group, connect with the Creator. It is the only way to reach the right decision. All the rest is a game, the show of life. It costs us great pain and suffering, but this is our evolution: It is impossible to avoid the mistakes here before we discover the opportunity to rise. One day it will happen.
If desire strives only to maintain itself without any other desires, it is called “inanimate.” It doesn’t change, but rather always wants by all means to preserve its existence one hundred percent as it is and continually resists any changes whatsoever. That’s why it’s called “dead.”

On one hand, it’s the most powerful force that keeps inanimate matter in its form and because it is inanimate, it is stronger than anything else. On the other hand, it has a deficit because it doesn’t develop at all, nor does it create any advanced form!

A plant doesn’t possess as much force for self-preservation as inanimate matter; it is weaker. But it does have an addition; it is able to change! It develops, alters, and grows. On the other hand, it still cannot remain eternal; that’s why it “acquires” life and death.

There is no choice, there is a price for the opportunity to continue developing. If you don’t possess stony steadfastness, but rather allow yourself to change, you go from edge to edge, from life to death; there is no other option. In other words, our development happens at the expense of immortality.

For a lifeless stone, life and death are the same. For a plant, life and death are different since plants can sense life. This is the root of any sensation, pleasure and affliction, one against the other.

Animals are much farther from inanimate nature; they undergo dramatic changes and experience tremendous growth. They acquire a higher intellect that accompanies their desires; so, during the process of development, animals acquire diverse forms. Naturally, animals are subject to an array of external and internal influences. Compared to inanimate and even vegetative levels, animals have a much more complex organization. Of course, animals sense their mortality very strongly as the difference between life and death.

The added ability to use intellect for analysis constitutes a distinction between human beings and animals. As opposed to an animal, a person has developed to the extent that he recognizes “time” in his brain: past, present and future. People can bring time closer by including it in desire. All of a sudden, we start envying someone who lived a thousand years ago or someone who will be born two hundred years from now.

We observe that at a human level, intellect enhances desire. The work of intellect upon the desire is directly related to the Light; actually, it’s the only work we ever do. The more we work on clarification and expansion of our desires, the more advanced we consider ourselves to be compared to our past, undeveloped states: inanimate, vegetative, animate and speaking levels within the human stage.

Naturally, humans sense life and death, the Light and the darkness, even more strongly. We become more dependent, delicate, sensitive and constrained. But this is the payment for our development.

At the time when our development at simple levels (inanimate, vegetative, animate and speaking) is complete, we approach the Creator’s level at which we gain new senses, a different kind of intellect and an alternative developmental force, all three components together, which we didn’t have before.
But who knows what genes exist in human society? No one has ever seen how it develops, nor was anyone able to collect data and assert how it will develop going forward. Humanity is our only child, and this is how it grows.

Answer: We can analyze and examine the past, study the developments in philosophy, sociology, and psychology, and this allows us to detect a consistent process and its driving causes. We don’t see future prospects very clearly, but judging by our present state we can still deduce where it will lead us. As with all things, we’re always extrapolating the past into the future.

Nature demands that we observe its laws. Nature is the general organism, which encompasses the still, vegetative, animate and human degrees of development. Everybody goes through this development. First it was the Earth, followed by the plant kingdom, followed by the animals, and finally humans.

This development began with the Big Bang and has been continuing via increasingly greater unification. In every instance, the unification of various parts leads to the creation of increasingly complex and unique organisms, both in terms of quantity and quality.

At first there was only inanimate matter, but then its parts suddenly began to grow acquiring a kind of life, their own individual development. The development then reached the animate degree at which animals develop even more individually. The animate degree was followed by man. These are the results of Nature’s development.

Obviously, this development has its own laws, which we can see by looking at the past. The question is whether we understand them? It appears that we don’t, but that doesn’t mean that they don’t exist.

As a scientist, I study nature and the way it develops, developing me as its component thereby. Indeed, even with all our scientific achievements, man can never be above Nature.

We exist in a certain closed sphere that we call “the Universe,” we study where we are and the kind of laws that act here within this sphere. This sphere is infinite, boundless, and filled with unlimited wisdom. And all we’re doing is scraping up paltry crumbs from this wisdom: This is what our entire science is based on.

We don’t study anything other than nature, and within this sphere we also learn something about ourselves. We see that we cannot take control of our lives, and for this, clearly we must study the laws of nature. It’s good that unpleasant problems push us toward attaining Nature; at least, the motivation is to improve our lives.
That is, the degrees from Chazeh and below rise and become included in David’s Malchut, which is the face of a man from Chazeh and above.

A depiction means a level of some degree. Depicting is like mating because in a Zivug, the degrees come out in the proper depiction according to the quality of that Zivug, to correct the depiction of all those who are included in the face of a man, in an inner depiction.

Within creation there are four types of desire: still, vegetative, animate, and human. They develop step by step because the Creator’s intention is to bring this creature through the still, vegetative, and animate levels to such a developmental degree that it desires to become human. After all, the creature doesn’t become human naturally, as Nature or the Creator would make it happen. No, the human depiction is revealed in this creature only as a result of preliminary understanding, comprehension, desire, efforts, and pleas—everything that stems from itself. That’s the only way it happens!

That is why this development is gradual. Little by little, over the course of tens of thousands of years’ worth of our development throughout history, on all our preceding and very distant degrees, we essentially “sow” within the inner qualities of perception, so that today in our generation, they would awaken and help us to realize our purpose. Indeed, at the human level we must resolve for ourselves the form and manner in which we must grow, why it must be this way and not that—to truly mold “from a piece of marble” something that didn’t exist before, something that has never been mentioned anywhere and lacks any kind of example.

I need to come to know the Creator, and then fashion out of myself, out of this “piece of marble,” the same form accordingly. And the Creator doesn’t reveal Himself in this process, for if He would reveal himself, I would only take from Him something superficial. Whereas I need to study Him, dig down to reveal the inner essence, from my very innermost desires and across the depths of all my degrees—still, vegetative, animate, and human. And then I am to decide whether or not to become similar to the Creator, for this is completely opposite to what I desire initially. Building a human is very hard and meticulous work that takes tremendous attention to every detail. This is precisely the work we study in the Book of Zohar, in the Chapter “Two Great Luminaries.”
In your opinion, what must happen in order for these people to start “gathering in a circle”?

Answer: Within the next 10-20 years I see such societies changing into something completely different.

Just look at what’s happening in India and China with their secluded way of life in villages far removed from all civilization. Just look at the way people are living: sleeping on a cot in a dormitory in a factory where at least 50,000 people work.

Everything has changed. Now these people are losing their jobs. Where will they go? A person loses his cot in a dorm and that is it, he has lost his corner and has no other place in the world. It is terrible what’s happening in these countries. China and India are enormous lands.

We must understand that changes can occur very sharply and suddenly. I see how fast the Gulf states are changing, the Arab Emirates for example. This is an educated country where the entire population lives at a comfortable level, but their way of life and their clan system is changing very quickly. All of a sudden they are losing the basis for it.

Closed societies still exist here and there; however, they are beginning to include themselves into the general masses that are living a more or less modern life.

Every vessel has five categories, or ten Sefirot—the structure of HaVaYaH in other words. This structure divides into five parts according to the Aviut (coarseness) of the vessel: from part zero to part four.

The vessel is broken in a special way: The higher its parts, the lower they fell, while the lower ones, on the contrary, have suffered fewer changes. Now the reverse order of Lights and vessels determines the path of correction. Vessels are corrected by the Light, which returns to the Source or surrounding Light (Ohr Makif). It is activated according to the stable and invariable law of similarity of qualities.

Vessels are corrected one step at a time. The vessels, which awaken towards correction on their own—“light” vessels of bestowal—do not need any special system. They do not need any special instructions; they naturally are drawn towards unity on which the entire correction is built. These vessels of the zero and first degree of Aviut are called “forefathers.”

Vessels of the second and third degree of Aviut require a more methodic correction in the work of spiritual attainment. They are called “sons.”

And finally, the vessels of the fourth degree of Aviut, which cannot yet be corrected, are called “nations of the world.”

As Baal HaSulam writes, forefathers needed a “preliminary consent of the entire nation.” Their souls were neither coarse nor separated between them, and this is why it was enough for them to understand the need for unity without having to do difficult work on self-correction with Lights.

But sons are coarser vessels, which work with egoism. They received the method called the “Torah,” which allows them to correct themselves—at first in the vessels of bestowal (“forty years of wandering in the desert”), and then the vessels of reception the (“land of Israel”). Then, while they were mastering the “land of Israel,” they broke twice, as they fell from the degree of the first and the second Temple. In other words, they have created vessels with an altruistic intention, but they were not able to hold them.

Then the sons mixed with the nations of the world who did not participate in this process.

And today the time has come for a common correction. Accordingly, everyone who awakens towards ascent is called “Israel”—according to his aspiration towards the Creator (Yashar-El). In the past, forefathers referred to themselves as ‘Israel,” because they came out of Babylon and escaped to Land of Canaan—in other words they rose from the degree of egoism to the degree of bestowal. Then they fell into the state of Egypt and once again rose to bestowal, having passed Mount Sinai and having continued corrections in the desert and the Land of Israel.

However, after the final breaking, the notion of ‘Israel” disappeared, because no one had the intention for the sake of bestowal, except for separate Kabbalists who lived in every generation—the last islands in the ocean of egoism.

In our days, every person, who awakens towards correction, is called “Israel”—according to the desire, which the Creator has ignited in him, his future role. And the rest for now remain in the category of “nations of the world.” For now they neither want to nor are able to hear the message about unity. However, after thousands of years of mixing, everyone is basically capable of spiritual ascent.

Briefly speaking, this is what the process looks like. At first mankind was in the common state of “Babylon,” and then that state divided into two parts: “Israel” and “nations of the world.” Then Israel descended into Egypt from there, which means that it acquired the evil inclination, and four hundred years later it managed to ascend to the degree of the Torah, build a Temple on the level of its private end of correction.

Then a breaking took place, and the sons of Israel have fallen down, into a two thousand year exile at the end of which all of us will come to a common end of correction.

Our simple countdown begins at the point of the beginning of correction when the fallen qualities of Bina have combined and mixed with the qualities of Malchut: Whoever awakens is ready for the spiritual path. Correction happens according to the principle of “from light to heavy”—but not by the means of the Torah, which is the method of past generations, but with the help of the wisdom of Kabbalah, which is able to bring the Light to us, which returns to the Source (Ohr Makif), from the end of correction. This is why it is becoming revealed in our days.

How should we relate to this reality?

Answer: Actually we do have control. It all depends on our approach.

In this world, I am in a kind of a “bubble.” I keep the laws in this world and try to fulfill my desires. Eventually I work out the relations with the world. I have studied it in depth, I have created many technologies, and I feel that everything is fine. Apparently I should be satisfied with the world because after ages of development, I control it.

Suddenly something new comes up: New forces arrive and I discover that I cannot succeed in anything. I have built many systems in this world: family, work, education, science, etc. Everything “ticked like clockwork,” everything seemed perfect, and suddenly it seems that everything has become bad.

What happened? It doesn’t make sense. We know so much; we have the brains; we have been through so much, so what’s the problem? Are we really so foolish that we don’t learn from past experience? Are we destroying our future? Why are we getting divorced without thinking about our kids? Why aren’t we aspiring to advance? Why are we ready to destroy everyone around us only so that our neighbors will be worse off than we are? What is going on?

It is simple. We are not to blame. Today another form of control is being revealed, a new sphere of another nature that controls us. If it weren’t for this new control, we could live a wonderful life. But it has been revealed, and now we have a problem. We are not opposite from the laws of this world but from the laws of the upper world. They influence us and we are miserable, unable to escape it.

In our world we always managed somehow and we aspired to advance, to know more, to understand more, to feel more, and to develop. Eventually we meant to subdue this whole world. But today we discover something that we don’t know and that we have no control over. Like kids, we face this uncertainty afraid to move so that things won’t get any worse. We see this in the world’s leaders and decision makers who don’t know what to do. For every problem there are endless opinions and no one has a solution.

The reason is that a new leadership has been revealed. How will we manage with it? How will we manage with its forces? We are perplexed and we feel bad.

This feeling doesn’t come from the Creator, but from our lack of adapting to the laws of the upper nature. Today we have to harmonize with them. We have grown for a long time and have finally reached the beginning of the Machsom (the barrier). The crisis is the beginning of the Machsom for the whole world.

In the group, we transcend it a bit sooner from our own will, aspiring forward. We have a “point in the heart” (•), we understand and feel that there is something else and we want to break into it.

The rest of the world is also facing the Machsom, but it will need our force and the troubles that push them from behind. One way or another, we have to discover the upper nature and to keep its laws, in other words, to be balanced with it. This is the safest thing.

Nature requires connection, integrality, and mutual unity of us. It is totally interconnected, and we have to be that way as well. We are on the way to unity and wholeness.

There is no punishment here, but rather new forces that push us towards wholeness. These forces operate in nature systematically, and we shouldn’t think that the Creator is trying to fail us on purpose. He hasn’t changed anything either in the past or today—there is simply a development engine constantly working inside us. Thanks to it we grow wiser every day.

However, if we don’t operate our brain and our wisdom properly, in order to adapt to nature, we will suffer. We had to unite with nature and lead a wonderful life, but now we feel this treasure as a problem. One way or another, this is our choice.

We exist in a global, integral world. There is no choice; we must implement all its laws. Once we kept them to a smaller extent since we had less desires, less contact with nature and the world. Today we are more involved with it, and that imposes greater obligations upon us.

When we don’t carry out all the laws of nature, we are incomplete and flawed. Thus our problems and sufferings will increase until they force us to obey them.

After all, we exist within nature. And from this comes the absolute need to execute its laws.

It is interesting that at the levels of still, vegetative, and animate all the laws of nature are executed naturally. There are no mistakes made. If there were a mistake, then it would be a sign that something was unwell. I once told a friend of mine, a veterinarian, about a cat who jumped unsuccessfully before my eyes, and got badly injured. He said that the cat was, without a doubt, ill. An animal doesn’t make mistakes since it obeys its instincts and its calculations are always correct because the laws of nature are at work and nothing more.

Man, on the contrary, can make mistakes in order to complete himself in awareness and recognition, until becoming similar to nature. And this also includes the small volume of our world’s nature, so that we will be able to advance forward and understand that it is not only this inner sphere that we need, but also we need completion until the level of the external sphere, the upper world where the laws of providence and management are.

We must carry them out and through them manage the whole of reality. When we include them within us, “we will pass to the side of the Creator,” and then we will manage the world with the attribute of bestowal.

“To know” these laws, is not simply to know of their existence without actively executing them. “Knowledge” in this case means adhesion, involving both the internal sense and reason, when you invert to be one with these laws and they operate in you exactly like in the animal world of the animate. This is called adhesion.

Thus, we need to unite with the entire world according to the law of love for others. The concept “others” includes the still, vegetative, and animate in nature, the levels that are found under man. After that, one needs to love the Creator. This means to merge into one with all of these laws, with all of these attributes. And then, there is no doubt there will be no error.

When you realize them as they are, in heart and soul, you reach Gmar Tikkun ( end of correction).

Thus, only for humans is there the ability to make mistakes and correct mistakes. Only in this way they develop. Through this, they complete their beastly existence via nature, or in other words, via the Creator, and acquire equivalence to Him.
So why does he need a course on the evolution of egoism?

Answer: From this course he will learn not only the beginning, but also the end of this whole chain. He will feel himself existing within it. He will see where all of this is headed. On the basis of that he could make correct decisions regarding all his personal states.

Comment: Let’s say I learn how the planets got formed. How is this related to my life?

Answer: It’s a part of an overall worldview that slightly raises a person above his animal part. When he turns to look back a few billion years, and when he looks forward to tens or maybe even hundreds of years ahead, he begins to see this practically endless axis of time within which he exists at this moment—a small, weak, and dependent element. And from here a question arises in him: “Who am I?”

When he sees his pitiful condition upon this axis, it will be possible to start raising him above it into a new state where he will feel: “All of this is below me, I can be in control of it all, I am actually on a higher level and can exit the boundaries of time, space, and history.” This is the beginning of that enlightenment that will appear within him.
Could you focus on this in
more detail?

Answer: I will say a few words about this. You can say that this is a whole philosophical system.

First of all, a person must understand that he did not create himself. He was born this way. Nature created him the way he is. Partly, he received some qualities from his parents, partly from his environment in the process of growing up, and partly from who knows where, why, and how.

Everything there is in him is not his own, but has passed down to him from some internal genes, which have been realized by the uncountable generations of his ancestors. Specifically, in the creation of a person, the ancestral genes and stem cells of his parents are at work. As it is said in the Bible, “father and mother, and the Creator between them.” The three of them are at work in this process.

Afterwards, a person develops under the influence of the surrounding society, which instills its values onto him. Meaning, that in a person there is nothing of his own.

But where is his personal “I”? It is unclear at all as to what it is. Where does it come from inside of me? Even if we take a small baby, we see that it is simply an automatic machine, a small animal, where the personal “I” is gradually beginning to emerge from somewhere, something independent, structured, personal. However, we do not know what it is.

So then a person separates everything that is not his from this “I,” then he begins to actually feel that it is not a problem to separate from his qualities, which he received from the environment, from education, from his parents, or from who knows where, from the darkness of the centuries.

The most important thing is my “I.” If I only think about how to elevate and realize it, then I don’t care about all of the characteristics and qualities that exist inside of me. Meaning, that they are not mine. If a person positions himself correctly, then he understands that it is not difficult at all to rise above all of this.

It is these “I”s of ours that we have to unite with each other. But leave everything else—because these are only random parameters accompanying us.

Question: So it turns out that the development of this “I” is the objective of the integral education course?

Answer: From the whole of this superficial covering, shell, we must retrieve and develop this nucleus, the original stem cell of each one of us. It can only be developed by means of connecting all of the stem cells together. When we unite them together into one common organism, it will truly be equal and perfect, like nature itself.

What does every person want at the end of the day? He wants to know exactly what influences him. Is it one force, or maybe there are two? Perhaps there are thousands of them on each side? “It doesn’t matter. The main thing is to remain connected with these forces and make them good to us. Then, we’ll be fine.”

This is what our egoism demands. As our ego evolved, our attitude to destiny also changed. People began to believe that their lives depended upon various outside factors. It’s on this basis that many creeds and religions were created.

Separation into “good and bad” is subjective. We “enter” an outside picture into ourselves and mark things with “pluses” and “minuses.” If we weren’t doing that, we would consider everything that happens to us “for the better.” However, we perceive any natural phenomena only through the prism of ourselves, and that’s why we’re unable to distinguish between them.

Thousands of details of positive and negative natures arise in our imagination. To the degree that our egoistic desires grow, we feel the need to detect the factors that influence each of its new aspects. We assign some upper divine meaning to them since we depend upon them for better or worse.

This is how our attitude is developed, through the change of our mind-set towards destiny and to who or what gives us birth and then sends us to death by taking us nobody knows where. Eventually, in our eyes all of nature splits into multiple detached elements and forces.

If we stop associating desires, feelings, and powers with these forces, we will see that we are simply talking about nature. In such a case, various factors are not dressed in human attire and do not have desires. They are just “blind nature,” nothing more than that. Nature stops being capricious by manifesting itself as “positive or negative,” but rather acts in accordance with rigid laws.

Because we haven’t learned the laws of nature and don’t have control of the general picture that is being drawn by them, we constantly deal with unexpected situations. The point is that we simply have no knowledge of the objective laws of nature, which don’t depend on anything except themselves.

The problem is that we don’t see the causes of events. Let’s say everything descends to us from the higher level that we are unaware of, whereas obvious things stem out of the laws of blind nature. However, a person is unable to exercise such an approach because he depends upon multiple factors that in his eyes are independent. So, he starts to associate them with caprices of nature.

A person doesn’t trace back his roots and doesn’t see the origin of his actions, judgments and sensations; he doesn’t even suspect that he operates according to a special program installed in him. He only views the observable part; that’s why he considers himself and others to be independent and arbitrary. As a result, he assigns the same concept to nature and starts to erroneously believe that it has a certain willpower of its own that can be altered depending on circumstances.

He trusts that he should treat nature positively, cajole it, pay it, and pay those who possibly are close to nature and can protect him. At this stage, a person stops depersonalizing nature, but rather ascribes his own desires, thoughts, and properties to it. This is the root of beliefs and religions.

Nowadays, we see that our egoistic desires, which have been growing for centuries, lead us through these theories and various attitudes to divinity. In the end, they all collapse. Some are inclined to fanatically hold on to a certain theory by artificially separating themselves from the rest of the world for the sake of alleged stability, even though it prevents them from further growth. This attitude can be traced in religious fanaticism and fascism, meaning in narrow-minded egoistic types of unity that at first bring steadiness to society, but in the end break down since they make further advancement impossible.

To the extent that people’s egoism grows, humans remain “naked” since they lose the opportunity to connect with nature. They feel that they are being captivated by absolute power that embraces all spheres of life, that they depend on chances and destiny, and that they simply cannot form any kind of subjective attitude towards these notions. This becomes a turning point that eventually will refer humanity to the wisdom of Kabbalah.
Interestingly, about 150 years ago, man’s life expectancy was not 70, but 40 years.

Regardless of the near doubling of our life expectancy, we still do not comprehend the essence of life. Humanity still doesn’t know what to look for and where to find it. The meaning of life remains ambiguous. When does life begin, and where does it lead us? Is there a purpose to it? What’s going on with us? The answers are vague.

People are subject to the power of nature. No one gets a book with revelations from Above. We all disclose everything there is within our world. The revelations we make build our understanding and awareness of reality.

Except for the substance from which we are made and our five senses, a human being possesses an inherent ability to discover something bigger. However, it is all in potential, and in reality we build our attitude to life and nature based on what we see. This gave rise to simple theories of creation based on life in this world.

First, man perceived the world as nature. He observed nature as a whole, as a complete picture in which all parts are interconnected. Thus, he felt close to nature. It is an ancient approach that was completely clear since everything was apparent and disclosed.

Later, people began to sort natural phenomena into “good” and “bad.” Man became more egoistic, and stopped sensing himself as an integral part of nature. He figured out that nature had various limitations that seemed positive or negative. He sorted the elements that influenced him into “beneficial” and “harmful” and thus created a notion of good and evil forces.

At first, it was a general opposition of good and evil, which later started to split into numerous independent forces until assemblies and pantheons of deities were created. Thus, our ego distanced us from unified nature even more.
It seems to me that we don’t have any egoism because we’ve lost the desire for all things. We no longer want anything at all.

Answer: Our generation is the most egoistic. When we began our development thousands of years ago, we didn’t have egoism. Today we don’t sense egoism because it pretty much ended its development approximately in the 1960s.

We feel that egoism has come to an end because it stopped changing. Today we live on autopilot without the desire and enthusiasm of the past generations. Where are the space exploration programs and scientific breakthroughs that inspired us in the past? All of this has come to an end.

However, this doesn’t mean that there is no egoism; we simply have reached its peak. It couldn’t develop any further in its previous form; therefore, it’s becoming global. Previously egoism was individual, an impulse within each person.

Today it is becoming global and we have totally stopped sensing it. I have nothing to run after because my egoism is no longer drawn by anything. People are content with their animal existence as long as they are left alone. They no longer aspire to reach new heights because egoism has stopped its development.

Moreover, things suddenly become more complicated because globalization reveals that everyone is connected. In the past a person didn’t care, he just wanted to be left alone. It’s as if the world was in a deep sleep. And then suddenly an integral world emerges where we’re all interconnected and this prevents us from sleeping.

What did we want in this state of sleep? We wanted to have plenty of everything: food, sex, family, money, honor, power, and knowledge, a new mobile phone with more advanced functions. We didn’t search for any exalted things, but we did want to be satisfied. We simply weren’t ready to search and strive for it, we wanted everything to come to us.

However, in order to awaken us from this sleep, we are being shown a global world, and we are forced to awaken to it. Here another problem arises which the world does not yet understand. The world sees this new phenomenon, but doesn’t realize this state is inevitable and that we must be a part of it.

We agree that we must establish international and cultural connections, as well as connections in banking, trade and agriculture. However, what we don’t understand is that we must create connections between us. The crisis is aimed at delivering this message to each one of us. Our connection must be internal and not through the banks, industries and other external systems.

People are the ones that have to connect into a single network. Through this crisis, nature is awakening the need for mutual responsibility, only we don’t understand it yet. Nature is obliging us to reach this state as it is written: “Either you come to this state by your own will (by the path of Light and correction) or this will be your burial ground.”

You will see what is going to happen. Nature will triumph no matter what.

However, life without achieving bestowal and true existence is harder than death. And this is not because it is difficult physically. Humanity is reaching a state where half of it is in depression and the other half is in fear. Consequently, life is becoming unbearable, not only due to natural cataclysms and disasters, but because of the intolerable inner pain.

We can have all the benefits in our material life, and yet feel horrible because it lacks meaning. A life devoid of inner correction and the inability to answer the question regarding the meaning of one’s life is becoming more horrid than death.

After all, a question emerges in a person, as well as new desires from the human level, and then a huge problem arises because every question from a higher degree cancels out everything one has. One does not understand why he needs all these fulfillments if he fails to find meaning on a higher degree. People are not committing suicide in countries that lack food, but particularly in the most well-off regions, such as the Scandinavian countries.

A life without the correction of desires is very difficult for a person who is asking this question. He begins to suffer not only because he does not receive pleasure from anything, but also from the fact that he brings suffering to others. He criticizes himself for his past, present, and future. He considers himself guilty in regard to his children, close ones, and strangers—in regard to everyone because he feels that he is the source of misfortunes for other people.

He is shown an overview of his whole life, and he sees how evil he was in regard to every person he encountered and how much he used everyone. In these circumstances, it’s difficult to remain without an understanding of the goal, which is the opposite: good and does good. He has no hope for the future, for the days to come, which will only be worse. A person feels that he will spend the rest of his life in the same useless manner, without receiving any fulfillment in the present or the future—no inner or surrounding Light.

However, one who lives for the sake of correction and rouses inner and surrounding Lights not only becomes worthy of receiving pleasure from life itself (when Light is clothed into desires), but he is happy to “bring sons into this world” (new states). That is, he advances further. He develops his desires and sees that he needs the whole world since it represents his own desires, which he joins to himself and fulfills. It turns out that they all are his sons.

Answer: This will happen when the whole world demands it. Israel cannot awaken if the world doesn’t demand it because Israel doesn’t have any need to awaken unless it is working for the whole world.

That is why we, the keepers of the method and those aware of what is happening, must disseminate the wisdom of Kabbalah as quickly as possible in the whole world in all forms, whether we’re mentioning the word “Kabbalah” or not.

We must explain our states, the correction, and what we can achieve through the corrections. This will awaken people and will give them the understanding of how to correct the crisis, and as a result of this, as it is said in the Prophets, “The Nations will come and carry Israel on their hands to build the Temple.”

Without such pressure there won’t be an advancement—the nation of Israel will not feel a need in this. Before the ten plagues of Egypt, one doesn’t flee from Egypt. But we’ve got an opportunity to convert this pressure from ordinary suffering into the suffering of Love, when you yourself long for something you don’t have.

But in any case, the pressure has to be there. The Gog and Magog war has to take place in order for us to be born on the next degree. But we can cause the birth pains and the birth due to our desire to exit this world instead of being due to real birth pains—wars and suffering for the whole world.

The Prophets tell us about blows that are in store for us on nature’s part. But at the same time, we have the wisdom of Kabbalah in order for us to accept these blows as purposeful and helping the birth.

The minute I connect myself to the goal, the blows become a remedy. I don’t feel them as blows anymore. But I have to go through all the forces and all the states. However, if I change my realization and attitude towards them, I go through them with joy.

I go through it all consciously, I see the goal and I desire these blows; it’s as if I’m giving birth to myself.

Two objects can exist only by virtue of mutual bestowal, mutual compassion, balance between them according to equivalence of form, attraction toward one another. Even on the still level of nature, opposite parts—protons and electrons—exist together in one system called an atom, a molecule, and so on.

When uniting more, they begin to work together on the vegetative level, with photosynthesis and other mechanisms inherent to it. There is an exchange of substances and systems accompanying it, and between them—mutual consideration of each other’s interests. After all, they also can’t exist without two forces: attraction and repulsion, reception and bestowal.

Next, on the animate level, these systems of reception and bestowal no longer co-exist within one object, but between different bodies, which have to unite to produce offspring. They depend on one another, help one another, and by virtue of that, life goes on.

Even if this happens instinctively, by nature’s orders for now, we already see how two opposite forces interact in balance with one another. As a whole, the entire complex of the still, vegetative, and animate levels of nature is entirely balanced, and all its parts depend on one another.

However, man differs from these systems greatly: the force of attraction, of reception, stands out in him drastically, being an evil force that he does not balance with the good force. This separates man from the animate world. We stand out in it precisely by means of the evil force instilled in us, which wishes to consume more and more, to acquire and rule. As a result, we become stronger than nature, even though in reality this is a petty advantage.

After all, nature is wise and the two opposite forces in it are balanced. To cause general progress, it activates these forces one after another to develop them while preserving the general balance. On the other hand, man, with his sole, excessive egoism, towers above the animate level, above balance, like a steeple, rising exponentially higher and higher.
You can see for yourselves that despite all our vain attempts, we do not control the world. It is driven by a certain program that operates according to certain forces. In the end, we are under its control.

Second, by moving this way, we do not know where we will end up. So how do we decipher the program of our development? How do we control it? Maybe sweeten it a bit? For example, today European leaders are unable to sweeten the bitter pills prescribed to the eurozone. They are already inclined to consider this entire common market to be a mistake. However, what mistake can we talk about if it is part of the program? Whatever happened, happened, and nothing can be done about it. It’s foolish to regret the past.

Man is created in such a way that before he can actually join an operational force, he is unable to understand that instead of representing the function, he represents the outcome, the action. Thus, humanity is discovering its helplessness due to actual problems. But the real collapse has not yet begun. The crisis has multiple layers, and its main characteristic is neither non-recoverable debt nor unemployment.

In the near future (possibly one or two years from now, if the process accelerates), we will see that the world cannot continue to exist. Climatic disasters, economic and industrial problems will put us on the edge of a cliff. Nations will not be able to manage the huge numbers of unemployment. We simply do not have a system that is capable of withstanding something of the sort. And then disasters will force people to listen to us.

Third, we should ask ourselves why did evolution subject us to such powerful shocks? In our current conditions, different types of vegetative and animate levels of nature are simply becoming extinct like dinosaurs. So maybe we will also disappear off the face of the earth under the blade of this guillotine?

In this case, we do not have another solution but to find a third force that will work against nature, in other words, against the Creator. It doesn’t matter what we call it.

Hollywood movies depict global threats also in the form of an asteroid flying towards the Earth capable of destroying us in a matter of seconds. As a rule, film protagonists manage to save humanity.

We too need to turn to humanity with a request for protection. We must find the protective force to withstand nature, which is leading us to death. We are part of its program, and if “blind nature” has planned to finish us with a number of cataclysms, then how do we find an alternative power for further development? How can we change the program?

First of all, we need to rise to a new degree, acquire wisdom, and understand what the common program entails. This leads us to the fourth stage, when we finally must realize that our essence, the egoistic desire, is the source of all disasters. If not for the ego, we would not be destroying human society, family institution, the education system, relations between people, countries, and religions; we would not be creating artificial dividers that separate us and at the end only lead to mutual destruction.

Once we realize the evil, we will think about what we call good. And then we will learn from nature in which the integrated mechanism of unity and reciprocity operates. We are able to imagine this and observe with our own eyes. So what do we lack? Only the ability to rise above our essence.

Will we be able to change the course of our development if we rise above ourselves, or is nature still stronger than us? No, it is not stronger. Why not? It is because nature controls us through our egoism, but if we mutually support and strengthen one another, if we build a common system and want to unite no matter what, the forces of nature will develop us in the good way.

In fact, our egoism no longer wants to keep growing because growth only causes it more problems. We finally can acquire the opportunity to control it and moreover, use it to advance in the good way, but only if we learn to use it for unity. The essence of all evil is that we develop by hurting one another, while the essence of goodness is to develop by uniting with one another.

Driven by necessity, humanity has to completely change its attitude towards life, the environment, society, raising children, and education. We need to build everything around us in a way that will allow us to be surrounded by warmth, like children. We try to place children in an exemplary society so that they will learn to behave well, care for themselves and others, and so on. I would like to place my child in the best day care, let him learn reciprocity, languages, and let him be a good boy or girl.

Evolution itself has implanted the parental attitude in us, which enables us to understand how to treat others. It is no coincidence that we were divided into male and female genders, which together create posterity, the next degree. This enables us to see how to build a proper environment for ourselves. Our natural care for children and grandchildren pushes us towards the same thing. And this is why today we must create a universal day care for all. Anyone who wants to be a teacher is welcome.

Generally speaking, humanity’s only problem is upbringing. And to be more precise, the problem is to understand that this is the main problem. This is why we explain to the world that the power that needs to be awakened is already inside of us, it is in the unity between us.

Science confirms that when people gather and unite, they generate a new, special, integrated power that exists on its own. For example, this power unites a nation by maintaining a common approach, character, and potential in people. The uniting power that appears through years of mutual living and interaction does not come from Above, but exists between them according to the specific form of their unity.

Similarly, when we unite today, we will beget this new, integrated power of world unity, which will become our protection, more powerful than nature, climate, ecology, or anything else. After all, this power is much higher; it pertains to the human degree, and man towers over the other levels of nature. And for this reason, this power will definitely help us sweeten our development instead of trembling like rabbits that are being taken somewhere unknown. We will control the process in action.|
But all of it happens under the shower of painful blows, by the path of suffering.

On the other hand, I can use alternative remedies (forces and situations) that allow me to go through the process of correction without waiting for trouble. The difference is in my consciousness, awareness, and determination towards the Creator.

I can either crawl and take blows until they arouse a new desire within me at each given step, or I can generate a need to advance on my own. I keep searching for attractiveness and charm in my aspiration toward the Creator and bestowal.

Let this charm draw me forward with greater strength than the pinches that I get from behind. I will be the one who defines the speed of my development by moving faster than it is defined in the Thought of Creation which spurs me forward. It is said that in this case I am the one who “wakes the dawn, the dawn does not wake me.”

At this point we arrive at the only free choice that is available to us. It is about looking for additional powers to advance besides the Light and the vessel. Where do I get them?

It is clear that if I don’t use alternative powers, my authentic “I” would not even exist. I’ll remain a small beast that evolves only as a result of the blows nature sends its way.

We have all been progressing in this manner until now. Somehow, we think that only the still, vegetative, and animate levels of nature develop in accordance with the laws of nature, but a human being advances independently of it. But why would it be the case? Isn’t evolution still in progress?

Is it really so that as soon as a monkey turned into a human being, it immediately got excluded from the laws of nature? Is it feasible that we are driven forward only by our own intelligence? No. We are intelligent, but we still comply with the laws of nature; we don’t oppose them. Our beloved intelligence comprises nature’s indispensable part.

Modern science discovers the miracles of developmental adaptability and explains interactions between various creatures: insects, birds, fish, and so on. However, we attribute all of it to instincts and at the same time continue to plume ourselves on our intellect. In reality, our brain only implements our instincts in an even more instinctive way. As a result, we destroy ourselves even more. Animals are defended by protective mechanisms, whereas we are deprived of a “safety device” and “go wild.”

Walking below reason means being under the influence of the society and acting with the reason of others. This is considered unworthy even though we always act precisely in this way since society pressures us and forces us to respect its values.

Walking above reason is something we are not capable of at all because this is called walking by faith. For that, a person has to form upper notions for himself which are above his reason in order to convince him with the force of faith and to accept faith as knowledge. That is, he has to unite with the environment and from it receive the proof of authenticity and value.

It turns out that a person usually acts within knowledge, filling it by virtue of his environment. And it is very difficult for him to rise above that.

Therefore, if we want to accelerate time, this is possible only by walking above reason. After all, if we walk within knowledge then it is simple evolution, the natural course of development. And this takes place until I feel and develop on my own, until I obtain the new knowledge.

However, if I am guided by the opinion of the environment, its knowledge becomes mine. And in relation to my previous knowledge, it is already “above knowledge.” That is, my personal perception turns into the social one.

It turns out that I replace my reason, which accepted only what was approved by my egoistic desire, with the net of connections between myself and others. And the well-being of others becomes the foundation of my reason.

If a person makes this change in his perception, then he exits the bounds of his limitations.
Because our nature is a desire to receive, we advance and develop gradually from one degree to another under the influence of a good sensation or a bad one. So what do we sense as good or bad?

We were created by the Light, which created us with a desire to be filled. Through our process of development, we gradually attain everything that is in the Light, in the Creator, as good and everything that is in contrast to it we perceive as bad.

This is a very long way, and for a long time, according to our nature, everything seems the opposite to us. But as the power of bestowal teaches us, we begin to understand that our egoism is bad and that it is responsible for all our failures, and how wonderful it could be if we were in the attribute of bestowal, which could raise us above all evil.

This awakening comes gradually to each of us and to all of humanity. It is through suffering that we learn from the blows that the force pushes us from behind.

At the same time, we are given the opportunity to hasten our development by ourselves and to advance towards attaining the good. The good is only bestowal, and we should do different exercises and use different tools in order to develop the sensation of the recognition of evil by ourselves, not as a result of the blows but rather through the environment.

In order to do that we have to be more sensitive to good and bad, to bestowal and receiving, to love of others and to hatred. I can prepare myself even before the blow comes, by working with the environment so that I can begin to understand that bestowal is good and receiving is bad.

After all, this is how nature is. The Creator determined the goal of Creation: adhesion to the Creator, to His qualities; that is, ”As He is merciful and you are merciful too.” So we have to resemble His attributes in all our attributes. This means that I have to transform myself and to understand that my nature is evil and that the Creator’s nature of bestowal is good.

The tricks and the means I use in order to see bestowal as good, are called “Mitzvot” (commandments), “God’s work.” Working with the environment enables us to see bestowal as good and egoism as bad.

This is why the soul was shattered into many private souls and we can, thanks to our mutual work, attain that connection and love of others, which is good. From the love of others we reach the love of the Creator. It is the particular and the general expression of the same phenomenon.

All the descent from the top down, meaning all the preparation that was made for us was necessary so that we will be able to use it and to develop independently and consciously, so that eventually we will reach the goal.
There are people who never get used to life’s new demands.

Today, this same transition is global. Until now, nature led humanity forward, enabling it to succumb to childish, egoistic games. We developed in our egoism and didn’t fight ourselves, but now our childhood is over and our adulthood begins.

In the same way that a person reaches adulthood, humanity has ended decades of youth. Our egoism has grown, and now we have to manage in the world on our own.

However, the world isn’t what it used to be. We are in a new global and integral world that is mutually connected, and in which we have to find our place and become a part of. We are not children any more. We have grown.

Of course, humanity doesn’t want that and doesn’t understand it. Just like a person who reaches adulthood and is suddenly faced with endless problems, he must rent an apartment, go to work, take on different responsibilities, and provide for himself everything that others have provided up until then.

Of course, he doesn’t want that. It is much easier and more convenient with mom. It takes time to get used to the grown-up’s world and to find the nice things in it. Humanity isn’t ready yet. It still prefers to dance to the tune of its egoism as before.

We are already in the new world, and we have to adapt to it. It demands our full cooperation and concern for everyone, yet people still want to go on playing like kids. They haven’t experienced enough pain to enter the new reality.

They should be told that the new world demands our full cooperation, that our work is to connect, and that we will solve all our problems only if we create the right mutual connection among us. The entire world is like one person now. Look at it as if looking in a mirror.

If you don’t feel that you are unemployed in certain areas, that natural disasters shock you in other areas, and that still other areas suffer from diseases, look at the general shape of this world. You will see that we have a systematic problem and we all have to be connected to one another, to work together in harmony for one cause, which is general balance.

Imagine that you had some medical tests yesterday and the doctor gives you the results today. It turns out that your body’s organs are not operating in harmony, but rather like children. One does too much, one does too little, and one doesn’t do anything at all.

After all, balance is the right connection among all the body parts and is the basis for feeling good health. So, now you can come to the right conclusion.
Later however, in order to allow the created being to grow, the Creator shattered these forces in it and totally disconnected the desire from Him. This was done so that the created being would be able to choose how to use the opportunities he was given, meaning these two forces, on his own.

Our world begins from a tiny spark. It contains an enormous force that until today moves the whole world and will bring it to the end of correction. The desire to receive appears in our world in the form of matter. We perceive this desire as if there is something material about it.

As this matter develops, it begins to connect, to unite. This is its correction after all the breakings and the fall, as the result of which it has reached the lowest possible point and was finally shattered.

Then, different parts of the matter begin to connect. At first they can hold one another only by physical gravitational forces. Then the connection becomes closer, and they can exchange materials. This is how biological connections are formed, in which each party gives and takes and also passes materials on to a third party.

This instinctive connection leads to the creation of life, to growth, to a process of life and death. This is the vegetative level that appears after the lower levels, in which there was only inanimate matter. The vegetative level evolves into special species like the “dog of the field” mentioned in the Ari’s writings, which is something intermediate between a plant and an animal.

The animate level is much more intricate and independent. It moves easily, and it absorbs and emits materials in a very clear manner. Every individual has its own unique character, and these creatures connect in a special way. They bear new creatures; they live and die.

So we can see that evolution is moving in the direction of connection, of mutual incorporation of opposite forces. The more forces there are and the further apart they are in quality, the more intricate and advanced the creatures they produce are when it comes to their own sensations and to the way they sense their environment.

And so through the monkey, the animate level, evolution reaches the level of man, the “speaking” level. At this level there are also those who only worry about their beastly existence, about preserving their life, which is just a bit more than that of an animal. After all, animals also build themselves a home, look for food, and take care of their offspring. This is also the life of undeveloped humans.

However, the more a person develops, the more the “human” desires, which are beyond the level of the living, awaken in him: desires for money, respect, power, and knowledge. Then human feelings awaken in us: envy, hatred, lust, and ambition.

Thus, developed people are very different in their qualities and tendencies. They are divided into different levels according to the goal of their lives and to their desires, which can be only material or more abstract, like the desire to enjoy music, art, philosophy, or science.

Still, each of them wants to use others, and the more developed a person is, the more he is attracted to it. The only difference is what one wants to gain from others, whether it is money, dominance, or knowledge. The evolution of these attributes is what advances humanity. All of it is in order to control the world and to understand it. After all, knowledge is power.

But there are people who have an additional desire, the desire to understand the meaning of life. They look for a way to reach this totally abstract goal that is beyond the limits of ordinary science. These people come to study the wisdom of Kabbalah.

They are different from others as they want even greater control—control over their own lives. They don’t ask about material things, but rather about their own essence, their goal that is beyond corporeal existence. They have the initial desire, which is outside this life and which draws them beyond this world’s limits.
At first glance, the plan seems imaginary….

We aren’t really aware of this difficulty yet. Ask people on the street and they will tell you, “What’s so difficult about it? We know how to help others.” Some admit that egoism is inherent to human nature in some sense, but no more than that. None of us yet feel the need, the necessity to go from reception to bestowal.

However, eventually the crisis will show us that we simply have to do this since otherwise we won’t survive. We will even lose what we now have and will finish ourselves off. Out of having no other choice, we are nevertheless starting to analyze the situation: Do we or don’t we have a chance to unite into a common system as Nature demands of us? Maybe we are incapable of meeting this condition and are doomed to die?

After all, this is a possibility. Once upon a time the dinosaurs were unable to adapt to the new conditions, and now we too have found ourselves in a similar situation. Right before our very eyes many species of plants and animals are disappearing. So maybe the human species is also destined to disappear? Reasoning objectively, we inhabit a small planet at the outskirts of the galaxy and possibly, by nature’s plan we have to make way for another species with greater potential and importance that will suit the large-scale picture better.

Thus, we are beginning to figure out the situation: Our nature is egoistic, while nature is setting a condition of mutual bestowal for us and requiring us to unite into one single whole. This demand of the common system will be expressed more and more clearly. Jammed between the desired and the reality, we are experience great pressure upon us.

That’s when the science of Kabbalah comes to our rescue, as if coming down on us “from above.” If we did not have this method enabling us to evoke the force of correction and ascend to a new level, then we really would die out like the dinosaurs because we would not have the slightest idea of what is happening and what nature’s program really is like.

Its condition does not seem realistic at first. We cannot unite. Then what should we do? The only course of action left is to wage wars and conflicts. When man has no choice, he is capable of anything. His only wish is to put an end to the doubts. We cannot tolerate uncertainty. It’s better to start a war or even die. Then we are at least moving somewhere, and that’s the most important thing. Since we made this decision, then it doesn’t even matter whether we will survive or not—the process has begun. This is much easier than wandering aimlessly in a fog. Uncertainty tears us apart and we cannot bear that.

That is why in our time the science of Kabbalah is being revealed to the world. It is being revealed “artificially,” from above, through a lineage of Kabbalists, by means of a certain parallel program. On the path of the natural development, we would not have been able to discover it and carry out the correction. After all, in the current situation, the transition from reception to bestowal really does appear unrealistic.
