  1. I agree, I think that even if someone isn’t receiving blows by suffering to advance spiritually that they still can advance through sensitivity to the Creator’s messages in what is happening and still do prayer or self analysis this way. I don’t see the blows in the past as bad things because I was able to see them as good through prayer/self analysis, however, I would much rather advance spiritually without the blows, but through praying without. Both get us to the same goal, but one is different than the other. I think that having an awareness of what is going on each moment and not missing the opportunity to understand and grow from it us just as important as suffering to learn what is going on spiritually.

  2. Also, it’s great to advance spiritually when suffering through prayer, however, seems like a waste of time if I just want to advance when things go wrong. There is more to the Creator than just seeking him when things are wrong. Why would I want to miss out on perceiving or getting to know him and how great he is and getting close, just because I only wanted to advance when I was in need. That would be kind of insincere and fake of me to do. Although I understand the Creator creates bad things for us to come to him and get closer. How sad would it be if I was only coming to him with my problems. Why shouldn’t I also try to get closer to him in times of happiness or inner peace? I think it is just as important to see the greatness of the Creator when things are going well as much as when they are not going well and we are able to see him through prayer that way. Just my opinion though.
