The Revelation Of Opposites Is The Springboard For Spiritual Ascent

authorEverything new in the world is born out of the sensation of an internal conflict, a contradiction of two opposites inside a single object. This sensation is unbearable, which is why it drives us to resolve the conflict. A person is unable to tolerate two opposites together.

This stems from the state before the First Restriction, when the creature senses that it receives from the Creator and is opposite to Him. This is why we cannot bear the sensation of discovering two opposites together.

Humanity is about to reveal this, and when it does, it will be in utter shock: on the one hand, we are connected to each other, and on the other hand, we hate each other. We will then be forced to solve the problem.

Therefore, the revelation of opposites is a necessary starting point for change. It is like a trampoline that facilitates the jump, because this sensation pressures us so powerfully that we simply have no other option but to break out of this state.

Hence, the faster these opposite forces are revealed in society – our inner hate for one another along with the necessity to unite and love, the way nature inherently does, the faster humanity will be compelled to solve this problem. Indeed, this duality is the reason for all the crises we are experiencing today. That is how we will reveal “the advantage of the Light from the darkness.”

The Journey From Nothingness To Perfection

rootsOn the spiritual degrees, the difference between opposites is much less bearable than in our world. After all, everything comes from the initial state, where the Creator, who is Good and Does Good, created egoism – the desire to receive pleasure, which is opposite to Him.

The Creator is inside this desire, which he manages. The desire to receive and the desire to bestow are outcomes of a single force, the Creator. We are incapable of withstanding the manifestation of these opposite desires from a single source until we reach Final Correction.

But when we do, we will see that these two opposites can be together, because then, in that point which was created as “something from nothing,” the material from which it was created – the absence of the Creator – becomes annihilated. This point then becomes completely bestowing, like Him.

This is why the existence of opposites is the reason for all of creation’s development until its final correction.

5 Minutes Of Light From The Daily Lesson: 3 Lines Of Progress

Desires Know No Distance

connectA question I received: There are thousands of people all over the world studying together with us through television and internet. They can watch the lessons and buy Kabbalah books. But what should they do if they don’t have a physical group nearby that they can join in order to receive the necessary forces?

My Answer: What difference does it make where a person is located when he listens to the lesson – in front of a TV screen, or in the lesson hall where I teach live? A person is located wherever his desire is. That’s why I feel thousands of people and their desires next to me, but someone else could be sitting right by my side and I won’t even feel him.

It makes no difference what part of the world a person is in. The distance may even be helping him. I feel how the people who get together in different parts of the planet are contributing an enormous force by participating in the Daily Kabbalah Lesson.

This happens because every person’s individual force is multiplied by the distance and the weakness he feels due to being far away from us, due to not feeling a direct influence. This adds up to a tremendous force.

So, no matter what corner of the world our friends are located, they are truly very close to us.
(From Part 3 of the Daily Kabbalah Lesson)

Persistence Is The Guarantee For Success

currentsWe advance under the influence of two opposite forces: bestowal (the Creator’s force) and reception (man’s force). It’s impossible to have a situation where only one force is present, similar to how in our world you can’t have one pole without the other.

Thus, each of us is influenced by these two forces at every moment in life. In addition, these forces are balanced so as to create a condition of freedom for us – the freedom to advance toward spirituality, toward the quality of bestowal.

This is why we are always in a “fracture zone,” if you will. One moment you’re excited, full of energy and movement, and the next moment you fall so low that you have no energy to move. The system of governance conceals the things that impede our development and creates various inner states for us, which depict the surrounding world. But all of this is in order for each of us to realize his free choice.

A person’s task is to do everything that’s in his power in every situation. Even if he thinks, “I’m good for nothing, and I’m definitely not fit for doing spiritual work. It’s intended for great people who have a lot of energy and talent.” Well, that’s just not true! It’s not the strong people who merit to reveal the Upper World, but the people who keep treading the path toward it! The souls that end up reaching the greatest heights are those that start their ascent from the very depth of egoism.

If a person has any opportunity to advance, then even if it’s purely egoistic, and even if he’s imagining all kinds of enticing rewards for his egoism – this is still a good thing! This is similar to how a donkey does work with its eyes tied by a cloth and a sac of grain dangling in front of its nose. This makes him walk around in circles and turn the wheels that turn the grain (an animal’s food), into flour (a human’s food). This is how an animal grows into a human being.

So, don’t pay too much attention to the conditions you are given, whether external or internal. All the states that we go through, regardless of how silly or useless they seem to us, are always the most useful for our advancement. We only have to try and do everything we can, like a baby that never gives up and is always tireless and enthusiastic. If we remain just as persistent, then we will definitely succeed!

Freedom From Egoism Merges Time Into One Instant

Laitman_2009-08_2934Modern science, biology, psychology and all forms of human research bring us to the understanding that time, space, motion and one’s picture of reality are all relative perceptions and notions.

Many people are beginning to speak of this, and the Internet is overflowing with articles on the subject, with some even being close to the truth. Truly the human mind has come to the very boundary between the two worlds.

Of course, scientists cannot properly envision the spiritual, but the readiness to perceive it is already beginning to be revealed.

This is why it is becoming easier to explain the notion of time in the spiritual. Although at first it appears to be absolute, it is a relative concept, since it stems from one’s perception of life, like the ticking clock or the beat of the pulse. Sometimes time “flies” and sometimes it “drags.”

Spaces are discovered in the cosmos where time stops; there’s even talk of areas where time actually flows backwards. There are stars that don’t emit radiation but rather absorb it.  What does that mean to the flow of time?

Time is a corporeal parameter which can be changed depending on the relationship between mass and speed.

In the spiritual space, the phenomena of time, place and motion exist in their true, absolute form, which, as they become understood, can also be applied to our world.

In the spiritual, as well as in our world, the correct assessment of time constitutes a number of actions that succeed one another. The key isn’t the length of these actions in time or the intervals of time between actions, but only the quantity of action.

Time is assessed only by the quantity of completed actions. If that quantity is high, then a lot of time has gone by; conversely, little time indicates few completed actions.

Man’s sensation of time comes to us from Klipot (egoistic desires). A Klipa draws out time like rubber from the point where cause and consequence (consecutive events) join as one. It divides them and inserts the sensation of an interval between them.

This sensation of an interval stems to us from a Klipa, our egoism, which wedges itself between cause and consequence, which is between occurrences. If we free ourselves of it, then this interval disappears and cause rejoins consequence, merging everything into one instant.

We Are At The Final Stretch Of Our Development

withoutA question I received: Why is it that when a point in the heart awakens in a person, he still has a long and difficult path to go before reaching spirituality?

My Answer: Why do you think the path is difficult? I look at the world and see so many people struggling to get money, power, fame, and knowledge, all to eventually experience a tiny pleasure. They waste their years on empty worries and false values.

When you engage in spiritual development, however, then even if you don’t move as quickly as you would like, but you still want to advance toward the goal, you will make progress. Isn’t this better than how the entire world is living?

Today, there are more and more people awakening to spirituality. It is impossible to even compare the number of students learning Kabbalah now to a mere few years ago.

When Rabash told me that the general awakening of the world would begin in 1995, I found it difficult to believe him. Who could have thought that the world would change so quickly? But suddenly, we do see that people are feeling empty and are experiencing a global crisis, including crises in nature, education, science, politics and economics.

It doesn’t matter that the media is lying and trying to hush up the crisis by assuring us that everything is alright. I am speaking of what is being revealed to us by nature.

Besides, it is understandable that people want to spruce up the situation. Everyone is instinctively trying to lessen their suffering and pain. This is why they close their eyes to the problems and tell themselves that everything is OK, that there is no crisis.

In the meantime, everything is crumbling and people continue to be laid off. But man is built in such a way that he does not want to see the truth.

The fact is that the Creator (Nature) is revealing to us that we are at a very advanced state. And this is all happening just twenty years after the general awakening has begun. Yet, you want to receive everything now, like a little child. You simply can’t understand what a huge, in fact – infinite desire we are dealing with, and how quickly it is changing.

The development of our desire dragged on gradually for thousands of years, but now it’s changing day by day. All you need is a little patience.

Use The Light To Make Your Path Quick And Pleasant

bio1Informational genes (Reshimot) are changing in us at infinite speed as we speak. Yet, it seems to us that nothing is changing because there are just so many of them, and they all have to unravel in the form of a chain. However, while these inner changes cause external changes, like numbers changing on a meter, there are a billion actions that have to play out on the inside. So give them time to occur!

It is written, “Those who seek the Creator hasten time.” Our whole participation in creation comes down to hastening our development. After all, you are at the lowest level, in this world, but you have all the data you received while descending from above downward. You are now obliged to reascend by the same path from below upward.

The path remains the same; the only thing we can do is hasten our development. We will thereby make the path quick, desirable, and pleasant.

This constitutes the whole difference between the path of suffering, where we advance against our will, and the path of Light, where we do it by our own desire. The path of suffering is lengthy and happens through the influence of the forces of nature, which is pushing us ahead with beatings. We are pushed along like mules, standing in one spot and refusing to move. This is the natural path of development.

The second path is when you desire to advance on your own and you look for ways to do it. You thus shorten your path, making it quick and pleasant.

The Whole World Is Like A Pyramid

and2520god2520created2520man2520in2520his2520own2520iA question I received: Why do we need so much time – 6,000 years – to reach the Final Correction?

My Answer: The whole world is structured like a pyramid that divides into the inanimate, vegetative, animate, and human levels. The inanimate level is our entire universe, which was created about 15 billion years ago. The terrestrial globe with, vegetative life on it, was created 4 billion years ago. The first living organisms emerged about a half a billion years ago. The first human being emerged about 50,000 years ago (depending on who you consider to be a human being). Do you see the proportion of how all of these levels correlate?

1

The same applies to humans, who also develop through the inanimate, vegetative, animate, and human levels within. On the inanimate level of development, human beings developed for several thousand years, and during that period, there was nothing differentiating humans from animals. Then the period of the “vegetative” level of human development began. And we have continued to exist on the animate level of development until this very day. Our entire inner development occurs due to our growing egoism.

Egoism that is individual or personal is a quality pertaining to the animate levels. In other words, on the inanimate level, everyone was the same. On the vegetative level, egoism began to flourish in people, but they developed as one integral mass, similar to plants that turn toward the sun together, or bend down together due to the wind, or open up together because of rain.

On the animate degree, individual egoistic desires begin to appear in a person, just as they are present in all animals. But when does a person reach the human degree? This is only starting to happen now, in the 21st century! So, just look at how many billions of years it took for the universe to develop, compared to the development of the human being.

You are asking: “We have been suffering for 5,000 years. How much longer do we need to suffer!?” But why don’t you ask about the past 15 billion years? Because you have a narrow, subjective view, which does not grasp the whole process.

Given The Opportunity, Our Egoistic Desire Becomes A Thief

Don't Look for Love In This WorldIt’s not easy to understand that there is a method of being fulfilled by bestowal instead of reception. It seems illogical, and society doesn’t support this either.

However, all of this was arranged on purpose so this opportunity to be filled by bestowal, to reach infinite fulfillment and to feel eternal life, would remain hidden from us. Otherwise, our egoistic desire would rush directly to enjoy from bestowal. (After all, the most important thing for it is to receive pleasure.) It is like a thief that runs ahead of the crowd, screaming, “Catch the thief!”
